Eugene Robert Wissen, age 95, of Austin, passed away February 28, 2016.
Eugene was born May 6, 1920 to Robert and Emma Erickson Wissen in Elroy, Texas.
Eugene served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945. While stationed in Mineral Wells he met Lula Dean Anderson at a skating rink and married her on April 28, 1944.
Eugene was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. from 1945-1981 as a cable repairman in Austin. He served on the board for the Austin Telco Federal Credit Union for 40 years, was a member of Manchaca Optimist Club and a charter member (1955) of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Eugene will lie in state at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca.
