Iris N. Armour, 69, of 710 S. Kimball died Wednesday evening at a local hospital. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Vernon Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-9 p.m. at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 8, 1907, in Aline, Okla., Mrs. Armour was the daughter of David and Cora Bell Cremer Andrews. She was educated in Aline schools and on Nov. 11, 1925, she married Milford Armour in Fairview, Okla. The couple moved to Nebraska, where they lived in Valley, Custer and Keith counties. They moved to Grand Island in 1942. She worked as a desk clerk at the Yancey, Stratton and Palmer Hotels. She retired in 1966 for health reasons.
Survivors include three sons, Bill in the U.S. Army in Germany, Elgie of Newport Beach, Calif., and Eugene of Grand Island; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Rilla) Young of Carmen, Okla., and two brothers, Harold Andrews of Lincoln and Lowell Andrews of Wichita, Kan. She was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters and one infant son.
