Richard Warren Abbott, 62, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at Greenwood. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery to follow at a later date. Richard was born Oct. 13, 1953, in Syracuse, N.Y. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in June 1971. He met his wife on Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand and they married in 1976. His daughter, Kathrine was born 1978. In April 1994, Richard retired after 22 years of service, he settled in Fort Worth, while employed by AAFES on NAS JRB, Fort Worth, where he worked for the last 20 years. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Arlene Abbott. Survivors: Wife, Juan "Nook" Abbott; daughter, Kathrine and husband, Timothy; grandchildren, Brittany and Brendon; son, David Tran and wife, Hannh Thach; granddaughter, Kristina; sisters, Corlene Jacobson and Stephaine Johnson.
