Juanita Jane Craig
CRAIG, Juanita Jane – Age 85 a resident of Sutherlin, passed away August 6, 1997 in a local care home. She was born July 22, 1912 in Westboro, Ohio to parents James and Maggie (Morgan) Moon. Juanita graduated from high school in Westboro. She had been a taxi cab driver in Middletown, Ohio before, during and after WWII. In 1951 she moved to California where she had owned and operated two restaurants before moving to Bakersfield in 1973. Juanita was a care provider for six years while in Bakersfield prior to coming to Sutherlin in 1979 to be near her family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sutherlin. Juanita enjoyed crocheting, quilting, fishing and camping. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include; son Larry L. Moon Sr. and his wife Jackie of Sutherlin; daughter-in-law, Mabel Stratton of Bakersfield, California; brother-in-law, Gale Guard of Trenton, Ohio; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; three nieces and one nephew in Middletown, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, at 1:00 p.m. at the seventh Day Adventist Church in Sutherlin. Private interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Oakland. A time of visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, August 10, 1997 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at TAYLOR'S FRAMILY CHAPEL in Winston who are in charge of arrangements.
