Rod passed away suddenly at home on December 7, 2015 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Son, grandsons, great grandchildren. Two sisters and their families.
After serving in Germany, Rod was discharged from the Army in 1956. He tried his hand at farming in Ortonville Minn. but when a surveyor position became available in Sioux Falls S.D. and he took it. After a brief time working in Rapid City S.D. for the State the family moved to Custer S.D. to start his career with the US Forest Service. Always trying to better the lives of his family promotions took them from Custer S.D., Sundance Wyo., Hayfork Calif. and finally settling in Auburn Calif. in 1974 to finish his career in 1983. He spent the next 15 years as a consultant for several different employers. Rod was a member of many clubs over the years including Auburn Elks Lodge (22 yrs), American Legion (9 yrs) and a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Committal service will be at the Sacramento Valley Veterans cemetery in Dixon Calif.
