Mrs. Billie Irene Sharpe Bowyer, 73, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, in Salisbury. She was born in Salisbury on Jan. 6, 1942, the daughter of the late William Arthur and Irene Bowers Sharpe. She was predeceased by her parents and one son, Charles Bryan Bowyer. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Session and was active in Children's Ministries and Christian Education for many years. She also enjoyed decades of service as a grade mother at the schools her children attended. After her children were grown, she was devoted to her vocation of caring for persons with special needs. Left to cherish her memory are her son, David William Klein of Sunset Beach; her daughters, Rev. Beverly Bowyer Coppley and husband Jeff of Pfafftown, Christina Bowyer Grooms and husband Paul of Rockwell, Elizabeth Bowyer Wei and husband Leo of Raleigh; and grandchildren Sean and Christopher Klein, Ellen and Thomas Coppley, Melanie and Noah Grooms, and Scarlett and Pippa Wei. Arrangements: Visitation will be held at Summersett Funeral Home Monday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. in the Summersett Memorial Chapel. The Revs. Jeff and Beverly Coppley will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Rowan Memorial Park.
