Alfred was the son of William H. Marshall and Ellen E. Trescott.

On Aug 11, 1894 in Stewartstown, NH he married Maude T. Smith, daughter of Gardner W. Smith and Amanda C. Dearth.

They had a son Burton Raymond, who was born in Canada. He was named after Alfred's brother, Burton Raymond.

A death record for Alfred can't be found. In 1940 they were living in Northumberland. On April 19, 1946 when his wife, Maude, died she was listed as widowed.

On Sept 12, 1940 a Life Claim was made on his Social Security, suggesting either he may have died or simply that he was claiming retirement from Social Security. Since Social Security cards weren't issued until Nov 1936 I don't know how the claims were handled back then. But he did die between the 1940 census and April 1946 when Maude died.
