Bill Samuel McCoy was born February 1, 1931 in Jones, Oklahoma to John Willard and Elva Christine (Anders) McCoy. He passed away September 13, 2015 in Luther at the age of 84.

Bill lived around Jones, Luther and Carney and worked as a carpenter building houses all over Oklahoma. He also farmed, and helped build the Arkansas Bridge in Ralston, Oklahoma. He met Barbara Akins in 1953 at which time it took him two weeks to convince her to even sit beside her. From then on they were never apart. He sold two cows to make enough money to marry his one true love. He loved his family and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bill was preceded in death by, his dad, John McCoy; infant son; son-in-law Stephen Barnes; grandsons, Rodney McComber, Buddy McCoy, Jr, Joel (J.W.) Brockamp; brothers, Ira McCoy, Tony McCoy. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara McCoy of the home; mother, Elva McCoy of Harrah; (7) children, Brenda and her husband Harland Fife of Luther, Billy McCoy and his wife Melba of Luther, Buddy McCoy and his wife Becky of Ponca City, Barbara and her husband Michael Barnes of Jones, Betty and her husband Kevin (Digger) Bourlon of Wellston, Bonnie and her husband Bud Carter of Paden, Beverly Barnes and her husband Stan Atnip of Luther; (22) grandchildren, Roy Fife, Donny Fife, Billy McCoy, Jr., Tara Jamison, Billie Jean McDaniels, Benjamin McCoy, Milissa Wilson, Brandy Story, Amber Hines, Michelle Johnson, Bridget Cobb, Ronnie McCoy, Nathan Brockamp, Ethan Brockamp, Dustin Story, Brittany King, Amy Carter, Zachary Carter, Dylan Carter, Eric Barnes, Jonathan Barnes, Christina Barnes; (32) great-grandchildren; (2) sisters, Myrtle Ann Chedester, Ellen and her husband Ray Tuttleton; many other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Lehman Funeral Home with interment following in the Carney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
