Doris Cohen Cole

Doris Cole, 91, long-time resident of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2014. She was born on April 19, 1920, the daughter of Julius and Kate Cohen of Superior, Wisconsin.
Doris graduated from Superior Central High School and later from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusettes. In addition to loving her children, Doris had a life-long passion for the care and protection of animals, especially dogs. She spent many hours working as a volunteer for the Capital Humane Society.
Doris is survived by: her three children, Jill Cole, Jim Cole, and Tom Cole; grandchildren, Jessica Sharp, Kyle Cole, Lauren Betcher, Scott Cole, Matt Cole, Mary Cole, Kate Cole, and Jake Cole; and nine great grandchildren.
Private burial at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorial service to celebrate Doris' life will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in her name by the Capital Humane Society of Lincoln and by the National Wildlife Federation.
