Donald was born on August 27, 1931 in Independence, IA., the son of Wallace and Genevive (Baldwin) Washburn. Don was raised on the Northside of Chicago. He returned to Iowa as a young man, started a family and later moved back to Chicago. He married Marjorie Parr in 1949. She preceded him in death. He later married Hope E. Roos on September 14, 2002 in Rock Island.
Mr. Washburn was the owner and operator of Midwest Window Cleaning for 33 years.

Mr. Washburn was proud to have served in the United States Naval Reserve. He loved spending time with his family, hosting family reunions, and was the life of the party. He also loved doing puzzles and reading in his later years.
Donald was a avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan, he was a Boy Scout Master, was in Dads Club, enjoyed bowling on leagues, played volleyball and worked at Farmall when he was younger.

Survivors include his wife, Hope; daughters, Linda (Craig) Kolb, Jody(Kurt) Wendt, Debbie Sagraves, Jill Washburn; sons, David (Cindy)Washburn, Kenneth(Debbie) Washburn, Jim Washburn; stepson, Doyle(Mary) Roos and 26 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marjorie; brothers, Wallace Jr. and Richard Washburn; grandchildren, Jesse Sagraves and Jennifer Natarelli and a stepson, Duane Roos.
