Mary Louise Watford Watson

Mary Louise Watford Watson, of Dothan, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at her residence. She was 99. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Madrid City Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Parkes officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Watson was born December 4, 1915 in Madrid to Johnny and Alice Watford. She was a graduate of Dothan High School and later attended secretarial school in Atlanta. She spent the early years of her life in Okeechobee, Florida. Mrs. Watson worked at Sealy Springs in Cottonwood where she met her husband, A.C. Watson. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was also a wonderful grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren in Nashville, TN and Chattahoochee, FL. Mrs. Watson was a member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church and the Home Demonstration Club. She is predeceased by her husband, A.C. Watson. She is survived by two daughters, Ruby McAllister (Larry) of Chattahoochee, FL and Mary Alice Pitchford (Billy) of Dothan; grandchildren, Chris McAllister (Stephanie) of Tallahassee, FL, John McAllister of Tallahassee, FL, Sheila Cumbie (Scott) of Orlando, FL, Danny Goldsboro and Terri Goldsboro, both of Dothan and Brandy Goldsboro of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kyle McAllister of Tallahassee, FL; and a sister, Helen Miller of Dothan. The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Watson. Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street 334-793-3003 is in charge of arrangements.
