Flying Officer Stanley John Abbott RAF aged 38 has relinquished his commission 'on cessation duty' on 5 December 1944. possibly because of ill health. His death at The Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, was due to an illness contracted on military service in the Middle East.

The son of Sydney and Maria Abbott of 'Hillmount', 29 Stoke Road Linslade, he had gained qualifications with the Customs and Excise department and had been District Scoutmaster of Linslade and district Boy Scouts Association.

1939 Register: Living at 29 Stoke Road Linslade Leighton Buzzard.
