He was born October 8, 1941 in Jordan Run, WV and was a son of the late Garland B. Harman and Evelyn Jane (Sponaugle) Harman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Jack Harman, Sr., James Garland Harman and Billy Eugene Harman.
Johnny was a member of the Boilermakers Union.
He worked for American Woodmark for 13 years.
He was a member of the Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren and was Sunday School Superintendent and Lay Speaker for 25 years.
He was a member of the Dorcas Ruritan Club and North Fork C.E.O.’s.
He served on the board of the Grant County 911 for 42 years and was an E.M.T. from 1978-1988.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara A. (McBee) Harman; one brother, Richard Harman, Sr. and wife, Edna of Petersburg, WV; sister-in-law, Carol S. Harman of Petersburg and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Monday, August 17, 2015 at 11 a. m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Cullers officiating.
Interment will be in the Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, WV.
