Mrs. Fatima Lucas, 72, of Worthington Manor, died 7:30 a.m. May 18 in Westmoreland Place following a six-month illness.
She was born July 10, 1914, in Vinton County to George and Martha Oiler McKinnis. On Oct. 31, 1930, she married John P. Lucas who died Dec. 31, 1981.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia A. Lucas, Columbus; a son, Gilbert D. Lucas, Laurelville; and adopted daughter, Schearl Budd, Columbus; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Pauline) Hendrickson, Frankfort; two brothers, Henry McKinnis, Ocala, Fla., and Paul McKinnis, Charleston, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold A. and Homer F. Lucas; a sister, Regina Palmer; and a brother, Ronald McKinnis.
Mrs. Lucas was a retired sales clerk of the former M. Schachne & Sons Department Store. She was a member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be 10:30a.m. Thursday at the Ware Funeral Home with Ken L. Springer officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Ware's after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridge Street Church of Christ.
