Raymond C. Hager, 93 of Marshfield died on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Ministry St. Jospeh's Hospital in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, September 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Savarimuthu Selvalaj officiating. Dorothy Gehrke along with Sacred Heart Funeral Choir will provide the music for the service. Entombment will be in Hillside Memorial Garden Cemetery, Marshfield.
Ray was born on June 1, 1921 in Marshfield to Henry and Mary (Zinthefer) Hager. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School. After his education, he worked for Art Knoll Farm in Marshfield and Clover Cream Dairy.
He was united in marriage to Marie E. Link on August 10, 1959 at Sacred Heart Church. Marie passed away on August 29, 2008.
Ray drove school bus for the Marshfield School District then worked for the City of Marshfield wastewater treatment plan for over 30 years before retiring in 1983.
Ray's passion was family and horses. He participated in many parades and outings taking many of his wagons for show. He was part of the Bi-Centennial Wagon Train in 1976 and many Circus World parades in Milwaukee. He enjoyed building and restoring wagons and antique machinery. Ray also enjoyed trips to Waverly, IA for horse and antique sales with his friends.
Ray was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #1799 of Marshfield.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, George Hager and a sister Ruth DeGraffenreid.
