Steven Harman, 65, of Iowa City died Thursday, October 30, 2013, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

A gathering of family and friends for Steven Harman will be held Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Steven Duane Harman was born May 8, 1948 in Webster City, the son of Leo Milford and Shirley Ann (Porter) Harman. He attended school at Charles City High School, Morningside College and Kirkwood College. Steven worked as a police and sheriff dispatcher, worked in ministry, in motel management, as a computer programmer and cab driver. He lived many places throughout his life including Charles City, Iowa, Sioux City, Iowa, Rochester, Minnesota, Nashua, New Hampshire, Belle Plain, Iowa and Iowa City, Iowa. Steven was a member of the Charles City and Cedar Rapids C.B. Club. He owned a ceramic shop, had received his pilot license and enjoyed collecting trains, wolf, wizard and dragon memorabilia.

Living family members include his daughter, Cherilyn (Mark) Gendron of Moxee, Washington; son, Jason Harman of Yakima, Washington; three grandchildren: Shannon, Joey and Brittney Gendron; one great-grandson, Aymes Joel; two sisters: Carolyn (Donnie) Lokenvitz and Connie (Dale) Nicholson all of Charles City; very special cousin, Terry Sue (Jim) Tourville of Omaha, Nebraska; aunt, Cleanne St. John of Fairmont, Minnesota; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Shirley Harman; son, Shane; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
