After a lengthy battle with lung disease, John Norton passed (in the care of Hospice Of The Valley) in the early morning of June 29, 2015.
John was born in Grainfield (Gove County), Kansas. The Norton family moved to Littleton Colorado for a time, and then on to North Redondo Beach, CA.
John attended Mira Costa High School, skipped two grades and graduated in the top percentage in his Class Of 1953. On to El Camino College to study petroleum engineering. Worked briefly for Standard Oil (Chevron) before joining the Army in 1957 to December 1959 as a Sergeant. Safeway Stores and Ralph's Grocery for 30 plus years, until retirement in 1995.
Surviving family members are: Wife; Lynn, Brother; James, Sister; Carol, Sister Ellen (Leroy) Passed in 2011 and 6/2015 respectively,
Sons; Jon (Katarzyna), Daniel (Silja), Daughters Marianne (John), and Heather Foster. Grandchildren Melissa, Melanie (Mario), and Chloe. Several nieces and nephews, and friends in Arizona and California.
