AUSTIN -- Ervin Henry Fett, age 89, of Maple Grove, formerly of Austin, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at his home.
He was born July 8, 1916, to Henry and Clara (Beneke) Fett in Waltham Township, Mower County, Minn. He was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Milius at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, rural Waltham, where he was a lifelong member. Ervin married Dorothy Splett on Nov. 17, 1940, in Elysian. They made their home on the farm until moving to Austin in 1995. In 2005, they moved to Maple Grove. He also belonged to the Gideons. He enjoyed traveling and liked to look at the crops, go fishing, play cards, bowl and watch sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Maple Grove, Minn.; daughter, Carol Jean Fett (Richard) Cuthbertson, of Plymouth, Minn.; two grandchildren, Katherine and Mary Davin; 12 nieces and nephews; good friends and friends who became family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Minnie and Lorene.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2006, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, rural Waltham, with The Reverend John Heruth officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is at St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Waltham.
Casket bearers are Jerry Beckman, Rick Fett, Bruce Selvig, Kevin Sorg, Joseph Splett and Denis Tufte. Honorary bearers are Donald Broskoff, Richard Cuthburtson, Bernie Hester, Lowell Sorg, Rick Sutter and Dick Tufte. Kristine Allas is soloist/organist.
