Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of 68 years to Clarann (nee Schleicher) Ruhmann; dear father and father-in-law of Janis (Steve Roberts) Ruhmann, Mary Jo Palsenberger, Joyce (Gene) Daoust, Rick (Sandi) Ruhmann, Jr., John (Suzanne) Ruhmann, Julie (Steve) Wood, Marcia (Kevin) Kelly, Jim Paffrath and the late Christine Paffrath; dear grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Richard was a decorated veteran of WWII and served with the Army Air Corp, 401st Bomb Group, England as a B-17 Lead Tail Gunner, member American Legion Post 444 and was Past President of the Friendship Force of Missouri and retired from McDonnell-Douglas after 32 years. He loved his family, camping and traveling.
Services:
Procession from Hutchens Mortuary & Cremation Center, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. to Sacred Heart Church, 751 N. Jefferson St. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass.
Interment with honors 11:30 a.m. Thurs. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Wednesday. Masses or memorials to 401st Bomb Group Restoration of the Champagne Lady Fund c/o 401bg.org appreciated, or 401st Bombardment Group, P.O. Box 2718, Gig Harbor, WA 98335.
