Dorene N. Bowley, age 89, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 7, 2012. She was born August 26, 1922 in McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Opal (Nelson) Eldred. She was a member of First Street Bible Church.

Dorene moved to Lincoln when she was three years old, and was raised here with her three sisters. She graduated from St. Paul Bible College, and went to Nigeria as a missionary in 1947. There she met Eric Bowley, whom she married in 1954. In 1959 they moved back to Lincoln. She worked for Back to the Bible for many years, and together with Eric, raised three children as a loving mother.

She is survived by: husband, Eric; children, Jeanne DeBoer, Denise Hanneman and James Bowley; grandchildren, John Ranney, Tim Ranney, Spencer Bowley, Karissa Bowley, Austin Bowley, Luke DeBoer and Sophia Bowley; great granddaughter, Andalucia Ranney; and sister, Marie DeBoer.

Dorene was preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Jenetta Gotchal and Opal Dunham; and infant son, David.

Internment in Fairview Cemetery.
