Born in Tower City, April 7, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Phina Long Trautman.
Harriet was a graduate of the former Tower City High School. She was also a graduate of Temple and Bloomsburg universities.
She was a second-grade school teacher for the Williams Valley School District, retiring in 1988.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where she was a former member of the choir and WELCA. She also volunteered with the Porter Tower Library and Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, in 1987; two sisters, Anna Mae Trautman and Betty Otto; a brother, Karl Trautman.
Surviving are two daughters, Christine E. Reiner, Tower City, and Jane A. Naylor and her husband, Max, Duncannon; a sister, Jane Smith, Tremont; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
