Oakley — Bernice Pedersen, 97, died Wednesday, April 15 at Logan County Hospital, Oakley. She was born October 19, 1917 in Jamestown, ND to John and Lydia (Holmquist) Newling. She married Lewis Kuper on November 22, 1942 in Faulkton, SD, and Irvin Petersen on May 10, 1975 in Binkleman, Neb. She was homemaker.

Preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Lewis Kuper and Irvin Pedersen, brothers Gene Newling, Kenneth Newling, and Alfred Banghart, and grandsons Lee Wright, Lester Wright and Daniel Hardy, and granddaughter Linda Pederson.

Survivors: sons: Ron Kuper of Oakley and William Pedersen of McDonald, daughters: Karen LaMastres of Grinnell, Delores Wright of Dodge City and Donna Boyda of Ottumwa, IA, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 20 at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Visitation Sunday, 5 – 8 at funeral home, with burial in Oakley Cemetery.
