Jiggs was the biggest fan that Hicksville High School ever had. He was a devout New York Yankee fan and could be seen in the summer walking with his radio listening to the Yankees. He umpired the home games for the Little and Pony League programs in town. He was tragically killed when he fell from a roof while working one day.
