Kenneth Z. Jewell, age 82, of Paris passed away at 2:15 p.m., Saturday July 16, 2011 at Paris Health Care Center, Paris. Following cremation a Memorial Graveside Service will be 10 a.m., Friday July 22, 2011 at Edgar Cemetery with Bro. Karl Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 211 and V.F.W. 3601. He was a checker at the Illinois Cereal Mill, a farm laborer and a janitor at the V.F.W. 3601 and the American Legion Post 211 in Paris. Kenneth was born June 14, 1929 in Alton, the son of the late Paul Z. and Martha Minnick Jewell. Kenneth served his country as an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 211, V.F.W. Post 3601, and the 40 Et 8 of Paris.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter Donna Louise Daniels of Kansas City, KA; his grandchildren Sherry Newman of Paris, Jamie Birch of Kansas City, KA, Brad Gilbert of Atlanta, GA, and Brian Gilbert of Boston, MA; his brother Aubrey A. Jewell of Rossville; his sisters Martha Daugherty and Carolyn Smedley both of Paris; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, his children Kenneth Michael Jewell, Ruby Lorraine Gilbert, Connie Kemper and ten siblings.
