Nee, Flanders
1916-2006
Opal was born August 12, 1916, in Aneroid, Sask. Canada, the Daughter of Frank Flanders and, Oline LIEN Flanders. Her Father was born in Illinois and her Mother in Norway.
After a long and lonely journey into Alzheimer's Disease, she passed away peacefully on May 22, 2006, 3 months short of her 90th birthday.
She was married in 1940 to Leslie Ray Hill and to this union one child was born, Beverley. In 1951 she married Charles Stanley Lemire who preceded her in death. On January 30, 1961 she married Herbert W. Hewit who also preceded her in death in 1980.
She spent her last five years at the Riverview Care Center in Spokane, WA.
A newly divorced Opal and her daughter came to the United States in 1949. After completing a secretarial course she was hired at Schwabacher Hardware in Seattle where she worked for 25 years. When she retired, she and her third Husband, Herb moved to Spokane where she has lived ever since.
At her request she will be cremated and her ashes privately inurned at Pines Cemetery at a later date.
I have a website dedicated to my Mom and Grandma & Grandpa's life and a very complete history of the Flanders Family from Europe to America.
