Age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2015. He was born May 11, 1922 in Grand Rapids, a son of John and Amelia Abbott.
Phil married Mary Cooper in 1942 and served with the Army AF during World War II. He was a retired salesman with Modern Wholesale Electric in Okemos.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Ronnie Keefer, daughter-in-law, Joanna Abbott and sisters, Mary (Eldon) Bell and Suzie (Gus) Pekrul. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Mary; children, Janet Keefer, David Abbott, James Abbott and Joellen Plummer; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Services 1 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2015, at Nashville Baptist Church, with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating.
Military honors will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Mulliken. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Sunday at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 75817, Topeka, KS 66675 or the Nashville Baptist Church.
