Mrs. Vivian Lavelle McSwain, age 96, of Rocky Top Heights Rd., Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born Feburary 28, 1918, in Toledo, OH to the late Alva and Marguerite (Danner) Argyle. She had lived in this area since 1993. Mrs. McSwain was a loving wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She sang in her Church Choir for 30 – 40 years, and was a sunday school teacher. Mrs. McSwain loved reading and working outside growing flowers, and was a world traveler. She was preceded in death by brothers, Douglas Argyle, Robert Argyle and Billy Argyle, daughter Kaye Sampson in 2011, grandson, Randy Joyner in 2011. Mrs. McSwain was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Jan and Arthur Upchurch of Blairsville, GA, Tim Fullwood of Inverness, FL and Carolyn and Royce Joyner of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren, Mark Joyner, Michael Joyner, James Joyner, Stephanie Sampson, Kim Pogue, Sandra DeLoach and April Bittell, fourteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Cline officiating. Music will be by Nancy Ellingsworth and the Floyd Family. Pallbearers will be Tim Fullwood, Arthur Upchurch, Michael Joyner, Mark Joyner, James Joyner and Mike Bittel. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
