Catharin Helen (Overholser) Beanblossom, 97, of Cedarville, OH, passed away on the evening of November 4, 2014.

Mrs. Beanblossom was retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company with thirty-five years of service, beginning in WWII as a switchboard operator and retiring as an engineer. Mrs. Beanblossom was a Life Member of Telephone Pioneers, a volunteer worker with the Boy Scouts of America and the Tecumseh Council (Springfield, OH) from 1954 - 2010. She was a recipient of numerous awards including National Scout Leaders 100th Anniversary Hall of Fame, Silver Fawn Award, District Award of Merit, Wood Badge, and many others. Her positions included Den Mother, Cubmaster, District Committee Member, and District Commissioner. She was inducted into the Greene County (OH) Women's Hall of Fame. She was active in the Atoka First Baptist Church after moving to Brighton.

Mrs. Beanblossom was survived by her son, Robert Everette Beanblossom of Brighton; brothers, Howard Overholser of Coldwater, OH, and Leonard Overholser of Eaton, OH; sisters, Clara Hutchins of Eaton, OH and Ruth Thomas of Satsuma, FL; grandchildren, James Robert Beanblossom of Drummonds, Richard Larry Beanblossom of Brighton and Alesha Key Beanblossom Coggin of Cordova; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Armstrong, Scarlett Bianca Beanblossom of Drummonds, Annalise Kathryne Beanblossom of Drummonds, and Isabelle Claire Coggins Cordova.

Mrs. Beanblossom was preceded in death by her infant son; brothers, Carl Everette Overholser and Reed Overholser; and a sister, Margaret Hicks.

There will be a graveside service held for Mrs. Beanblossom on Thursday, November 6, at 2PM at the Salem Cemetery. There will be a visitation held the night before from 5-7 at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that a donation be made in Mrs. Beanblossom's name to the Cedarville High School scholarship fund for the class of 1965.
