Bridgman — Melburn Lloyd Hocutt, 80, of Bridgman, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Jordan's Nursing Home, Bridgman.

Funeral mservices will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, at Woodland Shores Baptist Church, Bridgman, with the Rev. Winston Decker officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Friend's may meet with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Shores Baptist Church.

Mr. Hocutt was born Sept. 15, 1928, in Fayette, Ala., the son of the late Nero and Lucy (Kimball) Hocutt. He was a supervisor at Casting Service in Bridgman until 1972. Later, he owned and operated Mel's Painting and Decorating. He retired in 1986.

He was a member of Woodland Shores Baptist Church and an avid Cubs fan.

Mel married Betty Goings in 1947, and their daughter, Melba Jane (Brian) Lolmaugh of Berrien Springs survives.

In 1948 he married Cathleen Pinkston and their children survive — Dianne Archie of Bitely, Mich., Kenny (Ana Maria) Hocutt of Bridgman, and Pamela (Don) Mensinger of Stevensville. Cathleen preceded him in death in 1993.

Mel married Melba Jean Fecho in 1995 and she survives along with her children — Barbara (Richard) Keech of Baroda, Robert (Char) Fecho of Eau Claire, Richard Fecho of Berrien Springs and Michael (Pamela) Fecho
of Eau Claire.

Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mel was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
