He was born June 26, 1931 in Downey, Idaho, a son of Archie and Annie Larson. He was raised and educated in Downey and later served in the Armed Forces in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Thelma Kirkwood Feb. 27, 1969 in Salt Lake City, UT and they were later divorced.
Reed had worked as a truck driver for many years and was employed with various companies.
He is survived by three sons, Tom (Lisa) Larson; Reed L. (Laura) Larson; David (Stephanie) Larson, all of Salt Lake City, UT; five grandchildren, Toni, Taylor, T.J., Kayla, and Gerry, all of Salt Lake City; one brother, Roy (Myrna) Larson of Downey, ID; and one sister, Glennys (Joe) Edwards of McCall, ID:
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Iva Lou; brother, Henry; and grandson, Kevin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at 12 noon in the Evans & Early Funeral Home, 574 East 1st South, Salt Lake City, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Post #132.
