Margaret A. Petersen, 78, of Hudson, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born August 25, 1936 in Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Luther “Frank” & Lily (Squires) Hooper. Margaret married Robert Petersen July 6, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson. She was the Office Manager at Hudson Hardware Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1998. Margaret was very involved at Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Petersen, of Hudson, Iowa; her daughter, Linda (Michael) Soska, of Waterloo, Iowa; two sons, David (Belinda) Petersen of Rock Port, Texas and Thomas (Lana) Petersen, of Hudson, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Luther (Carol) Hooper, of Spokane, Washington, Dick Hooper, of Washougal, Washington, and Dan (Jan) Hooper, of Osceola, Iowa; and two sisters, Norma (Jim) Hager, of Lucas, Iowa and Amy Towle, of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Janeé Petersen, and a sister, Betty Hooper.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. October 15, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hudson. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. October 14, 2014 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
