Donna R. Hauptmeier, 79, of Beatrice, died Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2014 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born September 2, 1935 at Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1953.

She married Wilmer Beethe on February 2, 1959 at First Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice and they lived and farmed west of Beatrice. She was a life-long member of First Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in Sunday school, LWML, Lutherans for Life and Orphan Grain Train.

She moved to Beatrice in 1991 and was married to Willard Hauptmeier on July 10, 1999 also at First Trinity.

Her joy and fulfillment in life was taking care of others, but she also enjoyed playing cards, scrabble and doing puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Willard Hauptmeier of Norfolk; son, Tim Beethe of Vona, CO; daughter, Karen Schroeder and husband Joel of DeWitt; five grandchildren, Matt Beethe, Lee Beethe, Ben Schroeder and wife Kaelyn, Tom Schroeder and Amy Schroeder; two great-grandchildren, James and Emma Schroeder; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Mahloch of New Braunfels, TX, and Marlene Beethe of Manhattan, KS; one brother-in-law, Ken Bredemeier and wife Rita of Wauconda, IL; two step-sons, Sid Hauptmeier and Randy Hauptmeier; one step-daughter, Connie Leapley and husband Duane; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia Tegtmeier Mahloch; her first husband, Wilmer (Dale) Beethe, who died on September 9, 1990; one brother, Robert Mahloch; three sisters, Elfrieda Diekmann, Myrtle Diekmann and Marge Bredemeier; three brothers-in-law, Norman Diekmann, Vic Hall and Vern Beethe; sister- in-law, Arleen Hall; step-daughter, Terry Ricchio.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at First Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Beatrice with Pastor Timothy W. Wagner officiating.

Burial will be at the First Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of rural Beatrice.

A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. Wednesday at First Trinity Lutheran School.

A memorial has been established to First Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund and Lutherans for Life with the church elders in charge.

The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Wednesday.
