Gale P. DePugh, 92, of Chillicothe, died 12:37 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1922, in Ross County, to the late Lawrence E. and Myrtle M. Cozad DePugh. On August 30, 1941, he married the former Margaret L. Dyer who survives; also surviving are six children; a daughter-in-law; 31 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a brother, of Chillicothe; a sister, of Lewisburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased a son, Gale "Pat" DePugh; brothers, John, Glen, Ray and Rev. Erie DePugh and sisters, Beulah Gisvold, Leona Corcoran and Mary Spetnagel. Gale served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Mead Corporation where he had worked for 37 years. Gale was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731 and American Legion Post 757. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Ware's from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
