Bert I. McDowell, 69, of 2004 Johnson avenue NW, died at a local hospital at 8:57 a.m. Wednesday following a stroke suffered Tuesday. Born in Benton county Sept. 16, 1872, he had resided in Cedar Rapids for more than 47 years. For more than 22 years he had been employed by Wilson and company.
In addition to his wife Anna, he is survived by a son, Bert I., jr., Cedar rapids, a daughter Mrs. RW Webber of Ottumwa, a grandson and a brother, Roy W. McDowell of Tingley. He was a member of A.O.U.W. The body is at the Janeba funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
