The only daughter of Myrtle Eleanor McGowin and William John Frey was a native of Toledo, Ohio. She attended St. Theresa's Academy in Kansas City, Kansas and Junction city, Kansas school and Married Cecil E. Sherrill 1916 Kansas, married Herbert L. DeLaune 1930 Louisiana.
Son Jerry Dan Sherrill not listed below, buried in Houston, Texas. Her little eight year son drowned in Buffalo Bayou in Houston, Texas. She had two younger brothers: Soren Offerson Frey and Michael Aiken Frey.
A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters, a charter member of the Harrison County (Texas) Republican Women's Club and worked (volunteered) with the Mental health organization.
She played bridge with many of her friends, Frances Schonhardt, Mellie Payne, Mrs. Marvin Hall, Rebecca Norton to name but a few. Rebecca and Jim Norton are buried next to her in the cemetery.
She named her pall bearers years before she passed away and make of joke of reminding them. Sure enough, when the time came they all showed up.
"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."
