Myron Bruce Wierson, age 90, joined our Lord on Monday, July 28th, 2014. Bruce was born to Andrew and Mayme Wierson in Peterson, Iowa on April 30, 1924. He spent most of his childhood in Aimes, Iowa. After high school he attended Iowa State College briefly then joined the Naval Air Core at 18 years old. Bruce served as a Radio Man near the end of WWII. After the war Bruce moved to Phoenix, AZ where he took a job with the Mt. Bell Telephone Company as an Accountant and later in sales. On December 26th of 1950, Bruce married Alice Wierson and in 1953, they moved to El Paso, Tx to raise their 2 sons and daughter. Bruce loved the outdoors. Bruce enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hiking around the mountains of New Mexico and the dessert outside El Paso. Bruce had a close and intimate relationship with Jesus and shared his tremendous faith with all who knew him. He loved to sit and share poems and old sayings he memorized as a boy and impart his words of wisdom. His grandchildren loved him very much. He was a devoted husband for 64 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mayme Jerdeman; his brothers Wesley, Andrew, Rudy and his sister Delores Stennes. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home, 320 Montana Ave. with a Eulogy from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, July 31, 2014 11:30 am., St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1000 Montana Ave. with Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
