Hobbit was known by many different nicknames: Hobbykitty, Mean Kitty, MK.
He was a wild kitty, you had to have his approval to be in our house. He would walk right up on you and look you in the eyes and if he liked you he'd leave you alone, if not you generally left with blood being drawn from your arm or where ever he tagged you. He'd chase our children through the house if they misbehaved and you could hear yelling, "Hobby is going to get me!" He caught the people who broke into our house, by leaving deep scratches on one of the persons and he had to go to the hospital for stitches. Hobbit died because he was eating grasshoppers and cause a bowel blockage, the Vet discovered he also had Kitty Cancer. He was the most beautiful Silver, long haired kitty.
