Jimmy, as he was mostly known, attended schools in Frankfort and Searsport. After high school he went to Orlando, Fla., to help construct Magic Mountain at Disney World. Afterward he came back to Frankfort and worked with local construction companies. In 1986 Jim suffered a motorcycle accident, which left him paralyzed. He never felt sorry for himself and he still loved Harley's. He received his license to drive again and then decided to keep fit by cutting firewood. Jim was also well known for his Coca-Cola collection, of which he was very proud. Jim was a faithful volunteer at all the National and American folk festivals, as he loved being around people.
Jimmy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Roxanne; son, Michael; daughter, Amanda Hamilton; two grandchildren, Xavier and Isaiah; two brothers, Shawn Sanders and wife, Vicki, of Virginia and Donald Wotton and wife, Rebecca, of Bristol; and three sisters, Lora Wotton of Hartland, Heidi Wotton of New Harbor and Yvonne Gray and husband, Bill, of Orrington. Jim will be fondly remembered by many relatives and friends, all of whom were very special to him. He will also be heartfully missed by a special friend, who he considered a father, Duke Nolte. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Geraldine; and his stepfather, Donald Wotton. Jim's family thanks David Rocker, M.D., for his services and friendship throughout the years.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Winterport Baptist Church, 100 Coles Corner Road, Winterport, with Pastors Aaron Martin and Steve Nute officiating. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Messages of condolence and memories may be shared through
