Reuben was employed for many years at Ford Motors. He was a member of the UAW and active in the Democratic Party. He was very proud of his contribution in the 1960 presidential election for John F. Kennedy. In the late sixties Reuben realized he hadn't followed through with requirements to become a U.S. citizen. On June 2, 1970, Reuben West Wood officially became a naturalized U.S. citizen and soon thereafter relocated to Cape Coral FL with his beloved wife Margaret as to be near their four grandchildren John F., Jeff A., Jill M. and Joy P. Henderson. Reuben was a great grandfather several times over by the time of his passing on June 25, 1996. He was 85 years of age.
