Funeral services for G.W. "Buddy" Dowdle, 77, of Grenada, were at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Mr. Dowdle died May 20, 2014, at his daughter's residence.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1937, and was the son of Gaston and Jnettie Dowdle of Oxberry.
Mr. Dowdle was employed by Hugh White State Park as a maintenance man until his retirement. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Mae Adams Dowdle of Grenada; one daughter, Rhonda Bennett of Grenada; one sister, Virginia Rutland of Grenada; one brother, Sonny Dowdle of Grenada; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
