Marguerite O. McConnell was born in Greenfield, MO to Mamie Adelia (Carlock) and Jonathan A. McConnell. She died in the Highland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, January 20, 2006, at 1:23 a.m. at the age of 84 years, one month, and four days.

She went to Mt. Zion Elementary School and attended Dadeville High School where she graduated in 1941 as salutatorian of her class. Marguerite went to work at the Bomber Plant helping make bombs during World War II. After the war, she moved to Kansas City, MO and went to a business college and received a secretarial diploma. She worked for the Packer Company until her retirement in 1972.

Others preceeding her in death are her mother, Mamie Adelia McConnell, her father, Jonathan A. McConnell, two sisters, Mildred E. McConnell and Marjorie Pearl Drake; three brothers, Arthur Clinton McConnell, Raymond E. McConnell, and Paul Eugene McConnell.

She leaves behind a daughter, Stephanie Ann Temple; son in law, Duane L. Temple of Dallas TX; one granddaughter, Cassandra A. Temple; two grandsons, Daniel Temple and Jeremy Temple all of Dallas TX; three sisters, Mary G. Bennett Thompson of Kansas City, KS., Juanita Skaggs of Joplin, MO. and Lucille Butterworth of Greenfield, MO and several neices and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 23, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Greenfield Funeral Chapel with burial in Vaughn Cemetery northeast of Greenfield, MO. Those serving as pallbearers were: Jeremy Temple, Gary Dill, Nathan Weaver, David Dill, Jackie McConnell, Rick Vaughn and Richard Lee Tefertiller. Funeral services were under the direction of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
