Harvey drove a truck most of his adult life. He spent many years driving for Steere Tank Lines in Artesia, NM; then transferred to Groendyke Transport, where he later retired.
Harvey was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought a fierce battle until his death in 1998.

His second wife was Opal Mae Stephens Rhyne whom he married April 7, 1946. From this marriage he had two daughters, Cynthia Ann Rhyne and Sandra Lynn Rhyne. He and Opal divorced in 1963. (It was later discovered before Opal passed away that she was actually his third wife. It's unknown who Harvey's second wife was).
His third wife was Doris Elaine Allison Rhyne, married on August 30, 1968 in Yoakum County, TX.
His forth wife was Martha L. Anderson Rhyne, married on September 18, 1976 in Howard County, TX, divorced on December 18, 1976. Married again on June 3, 1977 in Dawson County, TX and divorced again on November 15, 1977. His fifth wife, sixth marriage was Betty Ann Bernosky Rhyne. They were married October 6, 1978 and were married at the time of his death.
Harvey liked to hunt and fish. In his younger years he had a penchant for cars.
He was a great father to Betty's children, and she was the love of his life.
His ashes are scattered at the entrance to Pinion, NM from the Timberon side. That's where he loved to hunt.
He has one remaining living sibling, Mary Rhyne Reynolds.
