Son of David and Mary Martin Pye.

David Pye was a lawyer, engineer, and politician. He was very highly respected in the community.

His father fought in the Revolutionary War. His children fought in the Civil War. The Pye family has had Political and Military leaders as well as lawyers in it.

In the 1850 Census David Pye was listed as a farmer with land value of 5000. Sarah his wife, and his grandson Alfred were living with him. Ages: David 74, Sarah 71, Alfred 12.

My guess is David retired to farming, paying workers to tend his farm.

His son Isaac Pye owned Pye's Corner in New York. Edward Pye was a Civil War officer.

County clerk 1822 and 1831.

I found records of another son, Jeremiah Pye born Nov 10, 1826. A daughter Sarah Pye born July 20, 1818. A daughter Catherine Pye born March 3, 1802. All with his wife Sarah Acker. However, with many David Pye's overlapping of the same name can make it confusing.
