SP4 Richard Lee Brech's tour of duty began on March 25, 1969. He was assigned to Aero Rifle Platoon, B Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division. SP4 Brech died from injuries received while engaged in Operation Lamar Plain, nine kilometers east of Tien Phuoc. Five servicemen died in the incident. SP4 Brech's name is engraved on Panel 23W, Line 42 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
