Mrs. Glenda Mullis Williams, age 74 of Cedar Crossing, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Lamar County, and moved to Toombs County in 1956. She was a 1958 graduate of Vidalia High School and earned a Banking Audit degree from the University of Georgia. She worked at the Peoples Bank and for the clerk of courts for many years, and in 1994 was elected as the Toombs County Tax Commissioner, and served for ten years. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Williams and parents, T.C. and Arietta Jones Dominy.

Mrs. Williams is survived three daughters, Laura D. (Tracy "Skip") Clark of Cedar Crossing, Jeanne M. (Paul) Wright of Crystal River, Florida, and Leigh Ann (Lyndon) Amis of Washington, Georgia; five grandchildren, Nick (Heida) Peterson, Britteny (Terry) Blissett, Melissa (Jeff) Clark, Ben (Jessica) Clark, and Blake (Amber) Amis; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Stopa and Charlie Amis; one sister, Elaine (Jonathan) Till; three brothers, Tommy Mullis of Forest Park, Reverend Tommy (Cathy) Dominy of Rome, and Tracy L. Dominy of Lyons; an aunt, Marie Keene of Thomaston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Monday, April 7th at 3:00 p.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Dominy, Reverend Bobby Thompson, and Reverend Gene Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharpe Cemetery near Alston.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00.
