Born in Owen County on October 24, 1876, he was the son of John P. and Liza (HEATON) MITTEN. He had lived in Owen County, where he had been engaged in farming. He was a member of the Pleasant Bethel Methodist Church, located northeast of Worthington.
Preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Alice, in 1937, he had made his home with his daughter here for the past six years.
Surviving him are the daughter and one brother, Clayton A. MITTEN, of Paris France.
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Pleasant Bethel Church, with Rev. M. T. WISLEY and Re. L. D. ROBERTSON officiating, and burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
The Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the final rites.
