Early Morning Accident Third in His Family During Last Three Years
John Herb, aged 28, was killed this morning while at work in the Tennessee Central yards, three years after his father, and one year after his brother had been killed in the railroad business. The accident occurred about 3 o'clock this morning while Herb was at work in the yards. He is said to have caught his foot in a new piece of track and fallen under an approaching train which was backing towards him. A car and a half passed over the lower part of his body before the train was stopped. He was rushed Fort's Infirmary, but the legs were so mangled that he died at 6:15 o'clock this morning. He is survived by a wife.
