Virginia J. Demers, 86, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Ingraham Manor. Virginia was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on January 12, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Luna Lee and Helen May (Huey) Evitts. She was raised in the oil fields of Oklahoma and during the dust bowl her family left Oklahoma and moved to California. Virginia was a longtime Bristol resident and was a retired assembler. Virginia is survived by her daughter: Geneva Hedgecock, of Bristol; two sons: William Hedgecock, of Logan, UT and Franklin Hedgecock, of Southington: a brother James E. Evitts and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son: Steven Hedgecock; and three brothers: Billy Lee, Jerry Wayne and Robert E. Evitts. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014, 1 PM at Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.
