Lewis Nusbaum Fleetwood was born September 29, 1925, and preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Helen Belle Nusbaum Fleetwood, and his siblings Ellen Ford, Mary Turner and Robert Fleetwood.
He served in WWII in the Navy, and married Mary Annis Sullivan on August 19, 1950. They have three children, Juanita Bowden, Dexter Fleetwood and his wife Becky, and Melanie Lewellen with husband Vince, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. Lewis was born in Jackson, NC, and had lived in Birmingham and Montgomery, Al, Brandon Fl, and lastly Plano, TX. He worked for Winn-Dixie stores for 38 years, retiring in 1989. No matter where he lived, he was known for his service to his family, neighbors, church, and even strangers.
Lewis and Mary traveled by motor home for years, visiting all of the US States except Hawaii. After they moved to Plano, they became active in Meadows Baptist Church and began to enjoy all the family living nearby. He will be missed by all.
Burial will be in the DFW National Cemetery with arrangements by Ted Dickey Funeral Directors.
