Son of Wayne C. and Clara Bankson Hastings, he never married, worked at a sawmill, lived at Polk, RD 1 Franklin, died in Grove City Hospital of stomach cancer, per death certificate 07138, whose informant was Merrill Hastings of Rt 1 Polk. Buried Jan 28 1970.

Wayne C. Hastings, 55, of Polk RD 1, Frenchcreek Township, died at 10 ppm Sunday in Grove City Hospital, where he had been since January 1. He was born July 26, 1914, in Canal Township, son of Wayne C. and Clara Bankson Hastings.

He lived in the area almost all his life, except for several years in South Carolina. For the past 18 years he worked at his brother's sawmill in the North Sandy area. He was a member of the North Sandy United Presbyterian Church

Surviving are a brother, Merrill Hastings of Polk RD 1; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Emma) Master of Van RD 1; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at John J. Berg Funeral Home, successor to Buchanan-Schmidt, with Rev. Robert Knapp, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Cemetery.
